Hijacked 890: Boarding Action In Progress
As one of my first tasks as a junior live designer, I was challenged to do something we hadn't done in the game yet, create a mission aboard a giant spaceship. The 890 Jump is one of the most luxurious ships inside the Star Citizen universe, unfortunately pirates don't like letting people enjoy their nice things. For this mission Pirates have hijacked an 890 Jump and are attempting to hack and steal sensitive information while holding crew members hostage and fighting off the hired security. The player must EVA their way on board the ship, proceed to locate the hacking device, terminate the data transfer, and then eliminate all remaining hostiles onboard.
With the amount of pirates onboard, and the location of the hacking device being unknown, this mission is recommended for a squad of 3-4 players, and has currently been played more than 350,000 times on our live build.

Responsibilities:
-
Set up mission flow logic including completion and fail parameters
-
Work with the combat AI team to design FPS combat spaces within the ship
-
Iterate and increment on balancing and flow of the mission
-
Plan location setup for multiple scenarios around different planets and moons
-
Trigger mission logic based on item interactions and statemachines
-
Create LDD and TDD as a reference for other departments
The mission was released to a lot of praise from our players and community, and still remains one of the top played missions for players looking to sink their teeth into some FPS action in the persistent universe of Star Citizen.
