Responsibilities:

​

  • Design documentation & Prototyping different gameplay objective types to include a variety of different player activity verbs

    • Ensuring that the player has enough variety to keep them engaged for a long time ​

      • Capture, defend, destroy, deliver, search, pursuit, escort ​

  • High level documentation of mission creation systems and the player journey as they progress through the game

    • Considering how other player activities and behaviours could impact the overall pacing 

    • Updating core tech team on design requirements to stay within scope

  • Creating design documentation and balancing for enemy encounters within the game

    • Balancing enemy targeting prioritisation against players and objective actors

    • Ensuring players never feel overwhelmed & that our content offers enough variety and challenge ​

    • Creating meaningful combat with strategic fronts and pacing of enemy spawns 

  • Keeping a wider consideration on how design changes of any team could impact the project as a whole

    • Balancing the meta of our systems to stop players outpacing the content implemented 

    • Finding the root core of the problem and ensuring no kneejerk reactions are implemented too soon

      • E.g Find out why enemies are dying too quickly (enemies health v.s weapons damage?)

  • Proving out the fun in localized team playtests, quantifying the feedback and iterating on the designs 

  • Co-ordinating design meetings and planning for mission objectives & enemy design, including all cross discipline representatives

    • Outlining work required ​in an appendix for other content teams e.g art assets, VFX, audio triggers, animations 

    • Ensuring high quality content creation pipeline standards are adhered to

  • Maintain wider project knowledge to be able to offer consultation and represent the missions team across other strike teams such as bosses or progression
